Criteria for the Comprehensive Exam
- Major/Major 6XXX courses, in case prescribed as compulsory courses and all have been completed as required by the program with the cumulative GPA for the core courses of not less than 3.00
- Other courses prescribed as the ones subject to a comprehensive exam by the program/major as per an announcement of the School/Institute (except for theses).
- In case of students waiting for results of the courses above, the Dean may consider allowing the students to apply for a comprehensive exam but upon release of all results the students do not meet the requirements under 1 and 2, the comprehensive exampl result will become “void” (refund may be requested).
- A comprehensive exam will be organized by the program/major. In case there are 2 parts or 1 part as per a specific major, the application to sit the exam will mean that students must take the 2 parts or the 1 part as prescribed by the School. For any student who is absent for any part of the exam, the School will announce the result as “failed”. As for the students completing the Plan A study (Thesis), only the Part 1 is required.
Students whose GPA of the 6xxx courses or major courses is less than 3.00, they may only re-enroll in the coourses with the grade below B.
The grades, for re-enrolled 6xxx courses or major courses that are calculated if students can sit a comprehensive exam, are the GPA of all of the most recent courses.
